WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CBD OIL AND THC OIL?

As cannabis blows up in the world of wellness, it is possible to be overwhelmed by a lot of content about lots of different kinds of marijuana-based products. It is possible to mix up terms and use one word in place of the other, even when they actually mean vastly different. In this article, we explain the difference between CBD oil and THC oil.

What Are CBD and THC?

CBD (abbreviation for Cannabidiol), is chemical compound that occurs naturally in the cannabis plant and is non-psychoactive in nature. While cannabis is commonly associated with getting high, CBD is not the component that causes the feeling of a high. That comes from THC (abbreviation for tetrahydrocannabinol). While THC can get you high, CBD cannot. Both, CBD and THC, are cannabinoids. While cannabis contains over a hundred cannabinoids, these are the two that are found most commonly in cannabis products. Generally, marijuana contains a higher concentration of THC while hemp has a lot more CBD.

CBD Oil

CBD oil refers to the oil made from industrial hemp. CBD oil can either just contain CBD or it can have a variety of other cannabinoids. Oils that have cannabinoids apart from CBD are called full-spectrum oils. Since CBD works better when it interacts with other cannabinoids, full-spectrum CBD oils are actually better to use. However, whether full-spectrum or isolate, CBD oils contain little to no THC (less than 0.3%).

CBD oil is available legally. At Seabedee, all our products are extracted from USA industrial standard hemp, which is compliant to with the 2018 Farm Bill. You can find our selection on our products page.

THC oil

THC oil is also often referred to as marijuana oil or cannabis oil. THC oil, as the name suggests, has a very high concentration of THC, and can also have a very high concentration of THC.

It is not legal to buy THC oil. Because of its psychoactive effects, THC is illegal in the United States.

The Final word

CBD oil has many medicinal uses: aids with sleep, pain, and anxiety, to name a few. Additionally, it is legal to buy and consume. CBD oil provides all the benefits of marijuana without any of its mind-altering effects. Therefore, it is wise to steer clear of THC oil and opt for CBD oil for your medical needs.
